We’re lost as to how to fix this problem, but we have a social share plugin that we can’t seem to delete. We added a new social media share plugin so we went in to delete the other ones we used. We deactivated and deleted. However, one of the plugins’ info won’t disappear from our website.

If you scroll down this page, you can see the information that won’t delete. It’s near the bottom between the tags and the author info.

The other problem is that we realized that the two plugins we deactivated and deleted had nothing to do with this plugin. We don’t know what plugin this actually is and there’s nothing that matches it in our installed plugins. I know we added it last year sometime but cannot remember the name. And now that we want to remove it, the plugin is not showing up in installed plugins but the info for it is still showing up on the website. So at some point the plugin disappeared, but kept the info. It’s possible we lost it as we just migrated the site last week.

However, we don’t understand why it’s still showing up on the website. We’d like to delete it, but are not sure what to do.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hello @silverpetticoat
As I see it is not a plugin issue. This section comes from the theme(And you are using hickory theme).
    OK, the solution is
Whenever you write a new post see there is a option in Post Type section. Just check the Disable Share Buttons and publish your post.

    Hello,

Had a look at your website (looks amazing!).
Looking at the code, I’m guessing that it maybe something to do with your theme in the widgets section?

If you use a commercial theme or plugin and need support, please go to their official support channel. In order to be good stewards of the WordPress community, and encourage innovation and progress, we feel it’s important to direct people to those official locations.

Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial theme or plugin is not working properly. This is one other reason why volunteers forward you to the commercial product’s vendors. The vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product.

Thank you both! You are right, it is part of the theme. Not sure how we somehow forgot that. 🙂 So we can easily fix it now, thanks.
