A lot of traffic causes server to freeze (7 posts)

The Digg Digg plugin basically loses its mind when a ton of traffic starts hitting a webpage it is on and causes Apache to eat up all resources and takes down our server.

Deactivating the plugin solves the problem.

Any idea why this plugin uses so many resources, and is there a similar plugin that doesn't?

It could just be a bad php script that loops and when web traffic gets to a point where your server has too many of these scripts running endlessly it just eats up your server's memory and then the CPU can't function anymore.

You mentioned deactivating the Digg Digg plugin solves the problem for you, so wondering what can be done to make plugin more efficient?

    Hi Jawillde,

Thanks a lot for the heads up on this problem. This is definitely not good. You are right, we pushed a bunch of updates recently to fix a lot of issues.

If by any chance you could let me know if this is still happening, that would be awesome. Keen to get things working well for you as soon as possible!

The last set of updates did not fix the problem.
