[Plugin: Dave's WordPress Live Search] Does nothing….don't know what I'm doing wron

When activated, the plugin does nothing. The directory is not password protected. I tried it with twenty ten theme to see if that was the problem, but it’s still not doing anything. I deactivate all other plugins. Still nothing. What could be wrong? It seems to be working for everybody else.

Hi Jenny,

Unfortunately, you haven’t given me much to go off of here. If the site is live, could I get a link to it? It would help to see if there’s any odd Javascript errors coming up or maybe the wrong path to the Javascript file (I’m researching a similar issue tonight).

Thanks for responding. I don’t have a live version, but you were right-the paths to the files are wrong.

The html source code repeats itself:
http://localhost/local_server/gislabtest/local_server/gislabtest/wp-content/plugins/daves-wordpress-live-search/jquery.dimensions.pack.js?ver=3.1

the same happens for ‘daves-wordpress-live-search.js?ver=3.1’

The correct path would simply be localhost/local_server/gislabtest/wp-content/plugins/. Is there something wrong in my wp settings, or is the plugin pointing to the wrong path? This isn’t happening for any of the other header scripts.

It was an issue with how I built paths to the Javascript file. If you have a chance, could you try the latest dev version at http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/daves-wordpress-live-search.zip and let me know if this fixes the problem?

yes, i see the problem. The sub directory is repeated in urls for these 3 files.

I did a quick test saving the html source to computer and changing the url, and it worked. The loading image appeared and then the results started to display:
