Support » Plugin: Content Blocks (Custom Post Widget) » [Plugin: Custom Post Widget] Select newest post?

This plugin is seriously a life saver! It works just great with my wordpress. I suppose I am just wondering if there is something in the code I could change to get it to do what I want- rather than selecting a specific block from the drop-down, I’d like it to automatically display the newest post in the Content Blocks section. This seems like it would be possible, but I’m not quite sure what needs to be changed to make it so?

For now I will just manually update the content block every time my site updates- but if I could get it to a state where it would be more automated, that’d be amazing!

Regardless thanks so much for making this great plugin! It’s already a lifesaver as-is 🙂

Because this would mean radically changing the working of the plugin I don’t think I can implement this change.

You can try replacing the post-widget.php file with this:

Now the latest content block is always displayed as requested (note that this completely ignores the post you selected in the drop-down list on the widget configuration page).

I totally understand that being a lot of work! I wasn’t sure exactly how it was coded, so… but thank you! That will work just fine! I always will want the newest content block to show, so that’s no problem at all. Thanks so much for the fix! I really appreciate it 😀
