[Resolved] [Plugin: Custom Post Type UI] Update Terms with Taxonomy Change

  • It would be handy if CPTUI automatically updated terms when a taxonomy’s slug is changed.

For instance, say you create a taxonomy for “media” and enter some terms for it. Then, you decide to change “media” to “media-types”… currently, the terms (wp_database.wp_terms.slug) would stay attached to “media” in the database, instead of being changed to “media-types” with the taxonomy.

This is easily remedied by modifying the db records, but it should be straightforward enough to have CPTUI check for previous taxonomy slugs and update them to the new one when a change is made.

Really handy plugin btw. I love it.

That would break all of the existing “media” permalinks and produce 404s in all of the search engines. Forcing a change like that by default is never a good idea.
