    I wrote a separate plugin for embedding PHP and/or HTML code into your posts: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/php-snippets/

    It’s a bit more flexible than the one you linked to because you can embed PHP or HTML via the same mechanism, and you get a nice little button in your WYSIWYG editor. Remember: only the main content field will parse shortcodes by default. Beyond that you’ll have to use the “do_shortcode” output filter.

    E.g. if you put your shortcode in a custom field, make sure you get/print the value via something like:

    <?php print_custom_field('my_field:do_shortcode'); ?>

    This is also a bit similar to the feature request here: http://code.google.com/p/wordpress-custom-content-type-manager/issues/detail?id=120 — slated for inclusion in 0.9.6 of the CCTM.
