• I just installed the plugin while working on a site and activating this plugin crashed the site. Got the error:

Catchable fatal error: Object of class Acf could not be converted to string in …/wp-includes/classes.php on line 277

De-activated all other plugins and still had this error. Please let me know if there is a solution – I like the versatility of this plug-in and have used it extensively on other sites.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Re-solved the issue – bit the bullet and upgraded to 3.1.2 and this resolved the error.

I too got this error but cannot upgrade as my WordPress install is managed by an IT department hell bent on remaining several versions behind the curve. Are there any other work-arounds? I can only edit within my theme directory or choose a new different plugin to the root cause – Advanced Custom Fields – which would incur additional developer time.
