    Never seen this error before (running WP 4.9.5 and PHP 5.6.31 Mysql 5.0.21)

    Warning: session_start(): open_basedir restriction in effect.
    File(/var/tmp/) is not within the allowed path(s): (/localdocs/wordpress_mu:/usr/local/tmp/wordpress:/export/home/backup) in /usr/local/wordpress_mu/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-simple-paypal-shopping-cart/wp_shopping_cart.php on line 22

    Fatal error: session_start(): Failed to initialize storage module: files (path: ) in /usr/local/wordpress_mu/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-simple-paypal-shopping-cart/wp_shopping_cart.php on line 22

    Any ideas?

    Hi, first of all let me share with you that your MySQL version is very old. Your server should be running minimum of 5.5x and above. Read the following documentation.

    Your issue seems to be related to the session start. Check the following documentation.
