    Hi there,

I received the following error after placing some code into the plugin which crashed my site. I have managed to get the site up with the help of my hosting company who disabled the plugin. I have also uninstalled > deleted > downloaded > re-installed via the wordpress dashboard and via ftp. But when I try to activate the plugin, I receive an error stating: “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”

I believe the cause of the error was because I pasted some code and added an additional ‘}’.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘}’, expecting end of file in /homepages/32/d667439606/htdocs/clickandbuilds/TestSite/wp-content/plugins/my-custom-functions/my-custom-functions.php(216) : eval()’d code on line 28

I am very new to wordpress and coding.

    Please help. Thank you.

    Hi,

I managed to follow the instructions from an earlier post “syntax error” and was able to activate the plugin and remove the original code.
