• I have posted this topic here because it doesn’t relate to a single plugin – updating or activating any plugin now causes: “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.” There is no additional information which I’d normally expect to see.

If I update an existing plugin the update is successful but it fails to reactivate to an error. Searching on the forums the postings all seem from years ago and to do with php versions in respect of this. Someone mentions that it could be permissions but that would be odd if it was working ok until yesterday.

In the URL I see this (as an example, domain removed): php?error=true&plugin=bm-custom-login%2Fbm-custom-login.php&_error_nonce=af25f269f0

The hosting is with Godaddy (not my choice) and the site is delada.net

Which plugin is it? That’s causing the problem? Also you are in the correct sub-forum as this is not an installation problem.

Actually it doesn’t matter – even updating an existing active plugin then has the same error and can’t be automatically reactivated.

Trying to activate any plugin gives the same error. I’m a bit hesitant to deactivate all plugins if I can’t get them back up on the site.

There is a nonce error shown when trying to activate the plugin I’ve never had this issue with any WP installs. I caled the host and they said they don’t support WP
