[Plugin: Contextual Related Posts] Custom Post Types

    Hi Ajay! I’ve been using a couple of plugins for creating Custom Post Types and Custom Fields (this is the best I’ve found), and CRP does not work with them.

    I think it’s because WP does not understand the custom post types as regular posts, and any query expecting regular posts does not retrieves them. Even something basic as get_author_posts_url does not work, and you have to tweak it to get non-regular posts.

    Do you have any idea about how to modify CRP in order to work? I’m trying to deal with this plugin for now, but I really would like to keep CRP as always.

    I’ll need to take a look at how that other plugin also implements custom post types.

    It has always been a complicated set to implement and I have had this on the charts for a while.

    I’ll need to start modifying my testing blog for custom post types to ensure that I have some relevant results.

    Can’t promise a time-line, but let me see what i can do.

    Actually, if you can drop me your email address at me AT ajaydsouza DOT com, I can send across to you a beta version to test on your blog. We will need a few iterations however.
