[resolved] [Plugin: Contact Form 7] Rollback to v1.10.1 SQL Table Not Created (3 posts)

We had to rollback to CF7 v1.10.1 due to conflicts with other mods on phpBB/WP-United interfacing with WP v2.8.2.

    However, uninstalling/re-installing CF7 v1.10.1 WILL NOT create a new table in database (e.g. wp_tablecontact-form-7).

Interestingly enough, we can create new forms in CF7 v1.10.1, insert the short code in pages and it works, though there is no data written into the table in the database.

So, where are the pages getting the form info from?

If we install CF7 v2.0.1, it WILL create a new table in the database.

If we uninstall CF7 v2.0.1 then rollback/install v1.10.1, the table still is found in the database, however creating any forms in v1.10.1 WILL NOT update the table.

We deleted the CF7 v2.0.1 table.

We thought of Google Gears caching issues, though haven't figured out if this is an issue.

We thought of browser caching issues, though haven't figured out if this is an issue.

Is there some other cache we've missed?

We can't get a new table written with CF7 v1.10.1. So, we're wondering if there is some leftover data in the database from CF7 v2.0.1 which we cannot see, causing this issue.

Previous Topic #296588 will give you some history on this issue, too.

Thanks in advance for any help.

That's because CF7 v1.x doesn't have its own table. It stores all data into a row named 'wpcf7' on the wp_options table. Not related to any caching at all.

CF7 v2.0 is the first version which has own table.

    AH! That explains it! Ha!

    We're not crazy after all.

    Great plugin.
