Support » Plugin: Contact Form 7 » [Plugin: Contact Form 7] Email validation breaks ‘success’ function of the scrip

  • I’ve this problem on 2 different version of WP (2.9 and 3.0).

    – when the fields are empty and then I validate, the ajax request is OK and the error messages appears correctly.
    – when I put something stupid in the email field (ex:’toto’), ajax request is OK, there is a good response (a JSON object, I checked with Firebug), but the ‘success’ function ‘wpcf7ProcessJson’ doesn’t occur (the ajax loader spins on and there is no message)

    Could you help ?

    Thanks.

  • I’ve found the problem : I use the French translations and the French translation for ‘invalid email’ is “Ladresse email est invalide” with a simple quote. Removing that quote resolves my valdiation problem but I would still have a good translation string !

    Thanks.

Doesn’t fix the rootcause, but try using ’ instead of ‘ in your translated strings. From a user standpoint, it’ll be just fine and won’t break the code.
