Hi! I’m trying to include the output of a shortcode (a list of favorites from WP Favorite Posts) in the message body of Contact Form 7. I see that there is a way that the dynamic text extension can execute a shortcode and include that content, but I’m not able to get it to work.

I’m using this in the form:
    [dynamictext* test “wp-favorite-posts”]

And this in the email body:
    [test]

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

  • Hi everyone,

I have the same problem to make this work…
I enter this in the form :
    [dynamictext dynamictext-215 “wp-favorite-posts”]
and i can see my list on the page where the form is displayed.
But, in the email, when i enter :
    [dynamictext-215]
    i receive an empty field….

iftomkins have you resolved this ?
Is there someone who could help us , please ?
    Many thanks in advance !

Nope! Never got it to work. Just left out that feature. Oh well!

I took a quick look at the wp-favorite-posts shortcode and it looks like it prints output, rather than returns a value (all shortcodes should return a value). Since it doesn’t return anything, you won’t get any value in the textbox.
