  • Our Contact Form 7 just stopped working on the 28th. No email coming in from our form on the 29th or today.

Haven’t done any updates to the plugin or our core WordPress installation.

Hosting company says nothing’s blocking email going out via PHP mail.

This is really frustrating. It’s left us dead in the water as we cannot receive our registration forms.

We’re using WordPress 3.0.1 and Contact Form 7 version 2.4.2.

Here’s the error I’m getting in my error log when trying to run CF7:

Program mode requires special privileges, e.g., root or TrustedUser.

Dantesgame I am having the same issues…no one seems to know what to do. Seems like it’s only godaddy hosting. The problem is not wordpress…..The solution is to leave godaddy hosting.

    chrisin2–I’m on GoDaddy as well.

My contact forms (two of them) started working again “mysteriously” over the weekend. It’s interesting that after I made no fewer than six calls to GoDaddy they started working again.

They (GD) tried to tell me to update my hosting account to their Grid Plan but what’s odd is that the emails started coming through before I made the switch to the Grid plan (no upgrade fees).

I don’t get it. There’s no logical reason for why the mail stopped and then started again all of a sudden unless GoDaddy did something to PHP on their servers.

I called complaining and of course they don’t support wordpress issues. I referred customers to godaddy and now they all calling me complaining. What a nightmare… I am forced to move all my domain names from godaddy…

I use cforms, always have. Works great on WP 3.0.4 and 3.1 on godaddy, I just tested it

@chrisin2 — most hosting companies will tell you the same thing: “We don’t support 3rd party software or apps.” They’ll take your money, give you lots of free apps to install, but won’t do a thing to help you when something goes awry. What’s wrong with that picture?

I’ve learned how to get around a lot of that mess and get their tech support to trouble shoot things but that’s only because I’ve been working in the industry for so long that they can’t pull any b.s. with me when something goes wrong with their environment (and not the code that I’m using in my sites).

@rev. Voodoo — thanks for the resource. Always good to have a backup plan. I love Contact Form 7. Does everything I need it to go. This was just a weird hosting anomaly.
