We have a WordPress site running on Windows and IIS 6 that has been working fine for several months now. In order to support Permalinks on the site we had been using the WordPress URL Re-Writer ISAPI filter for doing url re-writing. During that time the Contact Form 7 plugin functioned just like it should.
Unfortunately the ISAPI filter was causing issues with other applications running on that website and we replaced it with a different solution that uses a custom 404 error handler file (php). This works fine in supporting the site's links and all looked good until we realized that now our contact forms don't work. When submitted, the arrow icon just spins and spins.
So my question is why the absence of the re-writer ISAPI dll prevents the plugin from working. Does the Contact Form 7 plugin required the url-rewriting that Apache would be performing if it was running in a true WordPress environment?
I know I'm not in a supported environment being on Windows, but has anyone seen this before?
