Plugin constantly disconnects from IG account

    Good Morning –

    At least on a daily basis for the past month or so, my Instagram Feed keeps disconnecting.

    I receive the following error message

    “Instagram Feed is encountering an error and your feeds may not be updating due to the following reasons:

    There has been a problem with your Instagram Feed.

    API error 999: Your access token could not be decrypted on this website. Reconnect this account or go to our website to learn how to prevent this.”

    I am constantly having to re-connect my Instagram account (it’s a personal account). I haven’t changed any settings on my Instagram or on the plugin, so not sure why this keeps happening or how to resolve this.

    Hi @rumraisingelato,

    Thank you for reaching out to us for assistance. We believe the issue is being caused by the encryption that is required by Facebook in regards to access tokens. This encryption relies on the Salt hashes in the wp-config.php file. Can you add and define the following to the wp-config.php file for the site:

    SBI_ENCRYPTION_KEY
    SBI_ENCRYPTION_SALT

    You would use the same format as the logged_in_salt and logged_in_key in that file. You can find details on how this looks here. The important part is to make sure the values for the two SBI items above matches on both the local and production site if you use separate ones. Once they are set, do not change them. You may need to reconnect the Instagram account(s) to the plugin after this change, but moving forward, this should hopefully resolve the issue you are having.
