Support » Plugin: Nav Menu Roles » Plugin Conflict with WP 5.5.1

  • Thank you for an AWESOME plugin! It has been working flawlessly thus far. I went in yesterday to remove and add some roles and they don’t save. I have deactivated all other plugins to test and still does not save. I am using the MYLISTING theme and there are a LOT of users using your plugin. I am assuming it is because I am on WP 5.5.1? Any ideas when it will work with this version? Or any tips on what is causing the conflict? A developer suggested moving to another plugin and I’d hate to abandon ship since it has been successful thus far.

    Thanks!

    I have 5.5.1 myself and am not experiencing any issues with saving in the admin or in the Customizer. There could be a conflict with your theme. Can you use the Health Check plugin to quickly switch to Twenty Twenty (for you only)? I’d also suggest turning on WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG to see if that reveals anything about the source of the conflict.

    @helgatheviking Can you please confirm this plugin? https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/ and any advice on how to turn on WP_Debug and WP_Debug_log? Sorry new to the techy aspects of all this. ;}

    Yes that’s the one! Normally, I try to include links, but looks like I got lazy there….

    WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG are constants that you define in your wp-config.php file see this link to the Codex:

    https://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG

    But if you aren’t comfortable editing that another option that I like a lot is the Debug plugin which will allow you to enable those constants from your dashboard AND show you the log also in your dashboard.
