Support » Plugin: SSL Insecure Content Fixer » Plugin Conflict with Divi Builder

  • I’m not sure which update is to blame, but either on the DIVI side of things or on this plugin, a conflict has arisen. If the SSL Insecure Content Fixer is active, the Divi Builder fails to work on the back end, and if trying the front end builder, all that shows up is a blank page! If I deactivate this plugin, the DIVI Builder works as it should.

Again, not sure if this happened on DIVI’s side, or here. Just raising the issue. I’ve also posted this to the DIVI support forum (although to be fair, DIVI’s team stopped answering forum posts a while back…so… https://www.elegantthemes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=187&t=900231&p=4896716#p4896716)

    G’day mpedersen,

It could be that you have the fix mode set to Capture All, and Divi is just loading too much for the fixer to handle and it’s breaking. Back off to the Capture level and see if that fixes it.

Ultimately, your best bet with a heavy theme like Divi is to fix your content problems so that you don’t need this plugin. Here’s a rundown:

Ross, thanks for the response. Here’s some info I can provide following some testing.

By default it was set to “capture”, not “capture all”, and that is a sufficient level to kill the Divi Builder. If I go down to “widgets”, the DIVI builder is able to load. Somewhere between those two levels of aggressiveness, the conflict arises. Interesting situation.

I believe I initially installed this plugin a few years back when we migrated the site over to SSL, but I believe I captured most if not all of the http references that needed to be converted to https???

Regardless, perhaps this feedback will help someone else should a problem arise. Things were fine up until recently, so something has gone awry on one end or the other!

Thanks for the feedback. Perhaps I need to add a setting to turn off fixing in the admin. It’s most likely having too much to fix, and failing. I’ll log a bug in my tracker to see if I can replicate the problem and come up with a fix.

In the meantime, have you been able to get your website clean at the Widget level?

    cheers,
    Ross
