    Hello,

I am having a conflict with EM and visual composer. With visual composer on, when I click the events tab in the dashboard I get a 500 / blank white page (depends on the browers) All the other links (add an event, event tags etc)work fine.

I would really like to use both of these plugins on my site. Have an suggestions?

    Thanks,

    K

    hi,

just to narrow down the problem and help us debug the issue is it possible to try the following temporarily:

    – deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems

    This is making me crazy!!

The plugin that is not playing nicely is Ultimate Addons for Visual Composer By Brainstorm Force. With it on I get the out of memory error (changed browsers)

There is nothing in the error logs. I’ve re-uploaded wp core files (Just in case)

OK just tried switching to default theme and the plugins work fine. So it is something between the theme and ultimate hosing up EM

    Thanks

These are probably issues you’d need take up with developer of the theme / plugin.

That said, these types of problems are usually caused by the sort or problem described here:

I have been working on this site for over a month (its a huge re-do… so now I am freaking out) and the issue just started. Why would it take a month?

Have you tried contacting the theme developer as suggested?

    I have in the past…..

I’ve noticed a pattern with the problem. After I have been working on the site for a bit, I get the error. It only happens with EM. I can work on anything else on the site. I couldn’t get to the site for a few days and I was able to work on events for a little while then got the error again. (like some cache or something needed to clear out???) The rest of the site, I could work on and update. Sometimes I can see the event list, sometimes not. I can open the other EM links, enter stuff but get the error when I hit save/update.

    Here’s the error
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 17189212 bytes) in /home/blabla/public_html/i4/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1323

How much memory do you have allocated to your site?

I called my host… they claim it is unoptimized code?

can’t replicate this issue, can I know how many events do you have?

OK… I switched to default theme and deactivated all plugins except em and still had the problem (the memory error only happens with em. I can work in every other part of the site)

I walked away for a few hours… then it was working again.

While it was working I cleaned house. I have 10 active events. I deleted about 10 draft events and about 10 locations. A while ago I installed the plugin Optimize Database after Deleting Revisions. Ran it. The last thing I had last night was a blank screen and had to force my pc to shut down. (???!!!)

This morning I ran the optimizer and removed 50M! It seems to be working well at this point, but I have not tried reactivating the plugins.

Update… problem solved. It was NOT em. I was using a theme (that was really awesome… kicked butt and took names later)that used visual composer and a million other things.

Got rid of the theme and we are back in business.

Thanks for your time and great plugin!
