[Plugin: Configure SMTP] Plugin works as advertised. Could use error handling for bad passwords

I see there aren’t any posts on this plugin so I wanted to say, it works great for the past few months and I haven’t had any problems. My host doesn’t run sendmail on their webservers so a plugin like this is totally necessary.

The only caveat with this plugin is, if anything goes wrong, you might be scratching your head for a while trying to find the root of the problem. It would be nice if the plugin would flag an error when there is an issue with the email account or sending that is preventing it from sending mail.

As a belated follow-up to this request, as of v3.0 of the plugin, errors are better handled and reported to the admin (at least when sending out the test email).
