# [Plugin: Configure SMTP] Password encoding bug

 * If your SMTP password contains an `&` character it appears to be encoding it 
   on save, turning it into `#amp;` (replaced `&` with `#` so it renders here), 
   and preventing SMTP from succeeding.

 * any news on this? this prevents passwords from using special characters thus 
   weakening it 🙁

 * As a belated follow-up to this thread: this does not appear to be an issue with
   the plugin as of its current release (v3.0). Let me know if anyone experiences
   otherwise.
