Also, when writing a new post, there is no discussion options at the bottom.
click the ‘screen options’ tab near the top right on that page; then tick ‘discussion’ – this should give you the options below the post editor.
alternatively, go to dashboard – posts – all posts: below the post title of your choice, click the ‘quick-edit’ – then tick ‘allow comments’

Iv’e looked at other posts on this topic but none of the advice there seemed to work. My theme is “Adventure Journal 1.7.2”
No one can make comments on anything!
First I changed the settings. I didn’t realize that the box for “allow people to post comments on new articles” on the discussion settings was not ticked. Now it is.
Does that mean that comments can only be made from now on?
Also, when writing a new post, there is no discussion options at the bottom.
Can anyone help?
