Plugin colour shows update but no plugin button

    I have an odd question. Why do some plugins in the network admin show the update colour but no update button?

    I know the colour says this plugin is installed and is network activated.

    But this only happens to some plugins and not others. For example Jetpack on the plugins page is both network activated and has updates showing on the plugin page.

    Is there really an update to this plugin? Yes

    There is an update to this plugin because when I got to the updates available page. It shows me there the update button: https://cloudup.com/cFJBpIaNvcW

    Just an FYI. I am using WP Engine which is why I am also seeing a secondary notice to create a restore point.

    Any idea why this could be happening?
