• [Plugin: CMS Press]

Sorry! my earlier post wasn’t tagged.

CMS Press has been a wonderful find, I run a question answer website (tutorials) , and I used the unique plugin to create “questions” content type.

But any new questions that are posted under the content type “questions” don’t show up in the native search of the website, let alone google 😕
In fact Google is more important.

Because they cannot be found, the post is almost meaningless.

Ive tried commenting on my questions, submitting every single question individually to google submit url page, using All-in-one-SEO on questions … nothing.

Ive FINALLY resorted to re-posting/duplicating content – imaging every “question-type” article as a normal wordpress “POST” – it probably takes like 3 micro seconds for this thing – the question posted as a POST to appear on google. It works great. BUT I dont know why I have to duplicate.

Can someone please point me toward what Im doing wrong – or not doing?
    A WP novice here.

    Thats my website

    THANKS AND PLEASE HELP …

Make sure you have the question post type setup to be search-able and that you have the latest version of cms-press. A previous version had a bug that was incorrectly setting this value. You can test if it is working correctly by adding the following to your URL: ?post_type=question&s=[some search term]. Though, the custom content type should show up in the default search if you have it setup correctly.

THANK YOU so much – for your help!

I updated it to the latest version, and now the native search works.

Now the only problem is google.

It is not crawling my questions – even though it instantly crawls any “posts” I make. I wonder how I can get google to see my questions. I even submitted the entire page listing ALL of the questions to google – but to no avail…

Thanks again… I hope I dont have to submit each question url individually – even that didnt work with a few of the questions …

I’m not an SEO expert, but you need to make sure there is a way that the crawler can get to your “questions”. Do you have navigation item that points to a listing of questions which then points to the individual question pages?
