Support » Plugin: WP Engine Advanced Cache » plugin causing save conflict

  • I have an issue with the WPEngine advanced caching plugin
With the plugin enabled the issue is present – With plugin disabled the issue is not present.
    I am unable to
1 – save vendor settings in vendor prodashboard > settings
    and
2 – unable to upload new images in product management (An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.)
I had, therefore, disabled the caching plugin – having updated to the latest version Version 1.3.0
I was rather hoping that this would be a fix
I have update, cleared cache and retested
    Unfortunately the problems still exists

I have also tried in staging area – problem exists still

    Wp Version 4.9.4
    Woocommerce Version 3.3.2
    WPE advanced cache Version 1.3.0
    WCVendors pro Version 1.4.6

Only way to see this would be to login as a vendor, I can send test vendor login if required
(NB – I have the whole site set to basic 3 x plugins and storefront whilst this and another issue is debugged)
Any further info/help would be much appreciated or should I start a new thread for these issues?

    Thank you
    Iain

    Hey Iain,

These are all things that occur on the admin portal correct? Nothing that would be a front end user?

Are there any warnings or errors being reported in the logs on the site with the plugin enabled?

If possible, could you provide me with the install ID of the WP Engine installation? I should be able to dig in some more with that if that is okay. If you’d prefer you can provide me that information in an email.

    Hey
No, These are things that happen on the frontend as a vendor
    Install id is
Not too sure which logs you would need –
    Woocommerce
    Wordpress
    server

Happy to send you site admin login if it helps

Where can I find your email address please?

    Thanks Iain

Doh, forgot the id – still waiting on WPE live chat to help me find the id
Will update as soon as they are back on chat

It must be a day ending in the letter “Y”… I think this is my 4th one today…

Please don’t do that, if the author takes you up on that then they risk getting into real trouble in these forums.

Is it the admin details or the email that is a problem?

Can you clarify for me what you mean by install ID, so that I can better serve you?

    Hey Iain,

I was able to find the chat, I should have said install name, my mistake.

I’ll take a look now and see what I can find.

    Most excellent
    Thank you

Admin details. If plugin authors want to share their email (they shouldn’t but it is permitted) that’s fine. Regular users? No. 😉

    Hey Iain,

I think I figured it out. It looks to be due to the plugin building out the admin class on admin-ajax hits.

Updating this line to check if it’s an admin hit but not an admin ajax hit seemed solve the problem, which makes sense to me.

I’ll run it by Steven and see what I can do to get an update out to prevent this sort of thing from occurring.

After sleeping on this, the above solution isn’t a good option since it breaks the Ajax functionality on the backend.

I am not completely sure why creating the class on ajax calls is breaking that upload functionality, but I’ll continue seeing if there is anything else that stands out.

    Hi Ethan

    Ok, Thanks for the update
Fingers crossed for a fix in the near future 🙂
    Regards
    Iain
