plugin caused white screen of death

The slider was working until I edited the code to make it go slower, as per one of the posts that are on your site. However, shortly after I made that change, the backend of my site went white – no dashboard, couldn’t log in or see any of the backend pages. I deleted the plugin via ftp and now the site is back. Is there a way to solve this problem quickly, so my client’s site can go live? This is the last issue on the site that needs to be resolved. Thanks for any help you can give me.
