For some use cases, but not for me. When you go to plugin web site the plugin author entices us to hire him for custom development work via freelancer.com. I want to warn WordPress warriors out there that I had a very bad experience with him. I was impressed by his skills building the plugin and some of the code examples in his site. But despite his agreement to help me out in my projects he would disappear and endlessly delay my progress. In his disappearance streaks he would not reply to repeated emails, Skype calls, and messages for weeks on end.

The problem with this is that he would not tell you he is unavailable for X number of days/weeks to help you plan. Another problem is that he would go on unannounced hiatus in the middle of some unrefined PHP code which you would not know what to do with. Stay clear of working with him on custom coding efforts.
