I would like to use my own template for the Manage Listings page. I changed “false” to “true” in line 685 of views.php so I could override the default template with my custom “manage-listings.tpl.php” template in my theme’s /single directory.
Is there a reason why line 685 in views.php is not set to “true” by default?

Good question–I’ve forwarded the question to my developer. Stay tuned.

Some templates aren’t allowed to be overridden just to have some additional control over them. For instance, during the submit process we need to be in control and allowing people to override these templates will certainly break things.

The template system is flexible and and what you’ve done is more than fine: changing an argument to “true” in the template allows for these modifications.

Maybe we could add the “Manage Listings” template to the list of templates that can be overridden, but this template, in particular, can be more or less changed by inserting text in the WP page itself and since it renders the list of listings using “businessdirectory-listings” (a template that can be overridden) there’s there another chance to modify things.
