    Hi,
I have assisted other people with Hostgator add-on domains and there is nothing unusual about them ie no special requirements or settings that are different from the majority of major web hosts. So you issue is just the WordPress subfolder issue.
So if you have a WordPress subfolder installation and WordPress is installed in a folder called /blog then you would just need to add /blog to the RewriteRule and RewriteBase of the htaccess file that is currently in the root of your WordPress installation folder.
You must have a Custom Permalink Structure set up in order to use BPS.
WordPress will automatically generate the correct .htaccess code for your website when you update your permalinks. That way there is no guesswork at the correct RewriteRule and RewriteBase for your WordPress installation.
FYI – BPS does not currently work for websites hosted on an IIS server.
    Thanks,
    Ed
