New installation not working (4 posts)

I have a working WordPress 3.0.1 installation. I manually installed BuddyPress 1.2.6 and activated the plugin. I have edited permalinks and lighttpd.conf for url rewriting. I get an index offset invalid error in line 85 of bp-core-catchuri.php. $bp_uri is an empty array in my case, as I have installed wp in a sub-directory of my main domain.
From this point onwards, no Buddypress feature works.

I re-installed my whole setup and used 1.3-bleeding version of Buddypress. With this I get a different error:

[30-Oct-2010 21:26:23] WordPress database error You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'WHERE id = 1' at line 1 for query SELECT * FROM WHERE id = 1 made by require_once, require_once, require_once, do_action, call_user_func_array, bp_loaded, do_action, call_user_func_array, bp_setup_globals, do_action, call_user_func_array, bp_core_setup_globals, bp_core_get_user_displayname, xprofile_set_field_data, BP_XProfile_Field->bp_xprofile_field, BP_XProfile_Field->populate

    Please help! Thanks.

@Appwerkz if you installed BuddyPress in secondary blog (not the main site) then you need to see this - http://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/install-buddypress-on-a-secondary-blog/

Btw, better to use BP 1.2.6 stable in your installation.

@mercime, I have WP installed in a subdirectory of my domain root. WP install works fine in this subdirectory. BP 1.2.6 however, does not work in sub-directory. I see about 6 forum posts on this issue in the last 5 months and I don't see any resolution.

If this is not a bug, are there some special configurations to get BP to work when WP is installed in a sub-directory and does not power http://example.com but only powers http://example./com/blog
If it is a bug, is this going to be resolved anytime soon?

    Appreciate your help on this

@Appwerkz, Only tested and got BP 1.2.5.2 working with WP installed in subdirectory per this table http://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/before-installing/#bp-config but haven't tested BP 1.2.6 with that set up yet.

It may be a bug, you could login to http://trac.buddypress.org/report using WP username and password, create a ticket and probably find resolution there.
