[Plugin: BuddyPress Followers] Different kinds of "follow"

  • I’m building a social site where there’ll be two kinds of users, consultants and clients. I want to show a ‘I trust’ button when a client visits a consultant’s profile and a ‘I recommend’ button when a consultant visits another consultants’ profile. I’m just thinking about taking two instances of this plugin and change the texts, then put some condition to check user roles to display the button or not.

Is there a saner or cleaner way to do this?

  • Did you ever find a way to deal with this?

I would like to do the same. I’d also really like to change the box that says Follower to a different icon.

Any ideas how to do this?

    Thanks

How ever you are distinguishing your user types is how you distinguish the button displayed. Just use different class on your button/link for the two different users. Then use css to replace the text with an image, then the button can look and say whatever you want.
