[Plugin: BuddyPress Admin Bar Mods] Is this project dead? (10 posts)

This plugin's features (especially those proposed for 1.8) should certainly be built into BuddyPress.

If the author has abandoned the project (none of the links go to anywhere of use), I'm suggesting the dev team pick it up and make it part of the BuddyPress core.

Yes I apologize but since the coming of wordpress 3.0 I have "put the project ON HOLD". I will begin to develop the features after all the huge changes and merge of WPMU into WP3.0.

Great! I'm looking forward to the update, really want to use the admin bar to play host to some of the menus on my BP/WP.

Right now I'm shooting for September. This project was taken back a bit as I developed a couple of other plugins and learned more about WordPress 3.0 changes.

currently it only adds a 'dashboard' link to the buddypress bar. So, see if that is showing up or not. There are no control panels or anything yet.

If you don't mind following a little bit of html modification, I wrote a tutorial complete with the code snippets for adding menu items, drop down menus, and also drop downs with flyouts menus. You can get it here:
    http://erikshosting.com/wordpress-tips-code/adding-custom-menus-links-flyout-dropdowns-to-the-buddypress-bar/

Also here is another tutorial on how to remove the downward facing arrows from certain bp menu items, should also be useful:

Just to update you all, buddypress is still annoying as it doesn't "extend" wordpess multisite and instead rebuilds its own menu. They have code "commented out" that basically indicates that they need to build the possibility of allowing the original "wp_admin_bar" to be displayed. If and when they do that, I will bring my wp_admin_bar mods into this plugin.
