# [Plugin: Broken Link Checker] Fresh install: "table doesn't exist"

 * I have just installed the plugin for the first time and am getting the error:
 *     ```
       Error: The plugin's database tables are not up to date! (Current version : 0, expected : 5)
       Try deactivating and then reactivating the plugin.Database error : Table 'mydbname.wp_blc_links' doesn't exist
       ```
   
 * I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin but I get the same message.
   Any ideas what might cause this?
 * I’ve checked the database and the messageis correct, the tables aren’t being 
   created.

 * I’m not sure what caused this but if I created the database tables manually and
   then installed the plugin it seems to work fine.

 * Is the plugin working now that you created the tables manually? It gives me a
   server crash when installing the plugin, but I am pretty sure I used the plugin
   before and I had the previously created tables.
