• Since we updated to the latest version of WordPress the content editor within Posts or Pages no longer work correctly.
Any content entered into the Content Field is lost when the page is saved.
Switching to the ‘Text’ tab sometimes brings it back but the results are inconsistent.
I don’t think it’s present in previous WP versions but I cannot be 100% sure as the bug was reported to me by a client.
    To identify this bug I…

    • deleted my functions.php to eliminate problems caused by this
    • disabled all plugins and confirmed the Content Editor field worked as expected
    • enabled each plugin one by one and tested the Content Editor to recreate the issue
    • Upon discovering the dotMailer plugin is the issue, I disabled all other plugins and managed to recreate the issue with just the dotMailer plugin.

    Dotmailer is 3.4.2

OK so I’ve done a bit more testing and it turns out that the conflict is with any of the following plugins…

    Advanced Custom Fields PRO
    Gravity Forms
    Yoast SEO

If any one of these are enabled the editor breaks.

The same issue on my client’s site after the update. WordPress’s default visual editor is broken when editing posts/pages when dotmailer plugin is enabled.

I get the following js error on both:

Uncaught Error: no such method 'instance' for autocomplete widget instance
    load-scripts.php?c=1&load[]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,jquery-ui-core,jquery-ui-widget,jquery…:2
