Support » Plugin: Breadcrumb NavXT » [Plugin: Breadcrumb NavXT] How to make "Current Item" plain text rather than link

The breadcrumb looks great, and this plugin is the only one that displays my category hierarchy correctly… Thank you.

How can I make the Current Item display without being a link? I have never understood why there would be a link that simply reloads the current webpage; but the only way I see to even get the current item to display is by checking the yes box to “Link Current Item.”

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer to solve this problem.

What code are you using for calling the breadcrumb trail? The current item should not be linked if “Link Current Item” is not checked. Make sure the Unlinked versions of all of the breadcrumb templates have something in them (%htitle% is probably what you want there).

Thanks for the quick response, John.

If I leave the “Link Current Item” unchecked, then no current item displays. Is the current item supposed to show up by default (unlinked)?

The only way I can get the current item to show up at all is by clicking “Link Current Item.”

It should display unlinked with “Link Current Item” unchecked, so something is wrong (I run it “Link Current Item” unchecked on my site).

Try doing a settings reset (click the help tab, in the drop down click Export/Import/Reset, and then click on the “Reset” button). You will lose your existing settings but it should clear up any oddities settings wise.

I did that and even deleted and reinstalled it, but to no avail.

I want the current item in the list, so I will just have to settle for the small annoyance of having the item linked.

I tried out many breadcrumb plugins and yours has the nicest display and, as I stated above, was the only one that can properly decipher my category hierarchy, so I will consider it an anomaly (and possibly a conflict with the theme) and leave my 5 star rating.

Thanks for your development and support of this plugin.

This is still bugging me. Can you do a settings export (click the help tab, then click “Import/Export/Reset”, then click “Export”) and either post the XML to something like pastebin/grist or email it to me?
