Blubrry PowerPress Podcasting plugin
Conflict with MP3-to-Post Plugin (4 posts)

    I'm using Blubrry 4.0 and MP3 to Post 1.0.2.

    When I go to a post containing a podcast to verify the Media URL (which isn't auto-detected), I get the following error after hitting Verify:

    PowerPress is unable to detect media information.
    Plugin 'MP3 to Post' has included a different version of the GetID3 library located in mp3-to-post/getid3/
    Test: http://www.mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/mypodcast-20120519-1.mp3

    When I disable MP3 to Post, everything works fine. Unfortunately, MP3 to Post isn't being developed by the author anymore. I would love for Blubrry to allow these two plugins to play together.

    You can get faster response for PowerPress issues at the blubrry.com forums, forum.blubrry.com.

    Unfortunately the fix needs to be included in the "MP3 to Post" plugin. Best practice is for plugins to only include library or other include files when they are needed. PowerPress doesn't include it's own getID3 library until media needs to be verified for example.

    IF you are comfortable editing the "MP3 to Post" source, Move the following line in file mp3-to-post.php line 14:

    to the mp3_admin() function line 46 (add a new line 47). It would look like this:

    function mp3_admin() {

    Hi Angelo,

    Thank you. I made the change that you suggested and it seems to work fine now. I notified the plugin developer so perhaps that can be updated in the future.
