Black Studio TinyMCE Widget
[resolved] basic text formatting doesn't stick (4 posts)

I'm not having any luck with formatting text with this plugin. When I enter text with line breaks, the line breaks are discarded and all the text runs together. When I switch between Visual and HTML editing, I never see any <p> or
tags in the HTML. When I try to apply a style to a word, it sometimes gets applied to all the text instead.

    Haven't tried anything more advanced...

    Hi Robert,
Thanks for your comments. The odd issue with linebreaks is the default behaviour of TinyMCE editor. After your report, I changed the editor configuration so that <p> tags are not automatically added/removed when switching from/to html mode. Now it should work as a user would expect (please update to version 0.6.5).
Regarding the issue that a style was sometimes applied to a word and sometimes to all the text, consider that it is normal that some styles are applied to block level (i.e. p, h1, h2, ...), while other are applied inline (bold, italic, ...), if that was what you meant. If not, please could you be more precise?
Please let me know if you're still experiencing problems.
    Thank you.

    Hi Marco,

The new version works more the way I would expect. It still seems a little unpredictable when I try to work with existing HTML, but if I start from nothing and use the Visual view, then add HTML later, it does what I expect. I get the part about some styles applying to blocks, which seems to work more consistently now that <p> tags are being retained.

Another source of confusion probably betrays my lack of experience with WordPress. The styles in the admin area aren't the styles used on the live website, so it really isn't WYSIWYG. I guess this is beyond the scope of the plugin to address.

    Thanks for the update.

    Hi Robert,
yes, the behaviour you are experiencing is the standard WP TinyMCE. The plugin relies on this.
Don't forget to give your rate in the plugin page.
    Thank you.
    Francesco-
