I Installed this plugin on my new blog Tech Twisted and it works great but from the 2nd day only I started getting 5-6 emails full with thousands of File Change Warning Which Seems to be of W3 Total Cache

    it looks like this:

Please Tell me how to exclude these Cache File Change Warnings.

I'm using "Quick Cache" and that irritates me as well..... And adding the cache folder to the "exceptions" list doesn't help, and neither does creating a .jpg or other exception, because the cache files don't actually have an ending.

So, what's the solution to this?

I would add wp-content/w3tc to the exclusions. Worked for me.

For Quick Cache the file is under wp-content/cache
But, adding that to the exclusions list doesn't work.

Are you saying in order for it to work I would have to add the "Plugin" itself to the exceptions? That's certainly not a good idea.

  5. Lee,

I'm not familiar with Quick Cache however I use Total Cache myself and adding content/w3tc solves the issue (note I've renamed wp-content to content). This isn't the full plugin but the cache directory it creates. If you would like you can contact me on bit51.com and we'll see if we can't figure out why that exclusion isn't working for your site.

I am having the same issue, using better wp security and w3 total cache... where exactly is the option to include the exception/excludes? thanks!

  7. Under Intrusion Detection you can find a text box in which you can input files and directories to ignore.

ok....but why are we getting these constant warning? What is triggering them - i.e. what could be changing files? I am concerned that it is a hacker?

    My warning is like this:

My TimThumb is upto date - so what is this? Thanks!!!

I don't use any themes with timthumb but I do know it has the option of going out to the web and retrieving content. Have you run your site through http://sitecheck.sucuri.net/scanner/? It could confirm if there are any problems. If not I would suggest excluding the timthumb cache from the filecheck

I am using Quick cache and Exclude option in File change detection part is not working with any option that I write in.

I see that it should work with W3TC but I am not eager to install plugin that hasn't been updated for over a year now.

information that I get aren't connected with anything but QC itself

Checking it on sucuri.net I got Verified clean mark so everything is fine except I am annoyed with all those mails I got every day..

    Thank you for the help!

@Bit51 - why would timthumb want to go and "retrieve content"

I get everyday warnings like this:

I ran a security check and all is well but I am completely confused why Tim Thumb is creating this log? I keep thinking my site has been hacked....?

if in file change detection , 'include' is selected and .php , .js , .css are listed below. will it provide security from major attack?
