Support » Plugin: iThemes Security (formerly Better WP Security) » [Plugin: Better WP Security] Forbidden error / conflict with aMember?

  • Hi,

We are getting the below error when Better Security (latest version) is activated:

You don’t have permission to access /members/plugins/payment/cc_core/cc.php on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request”

The above error occurs when one tries to register to our members area that is powered by aMember (3.x).

We have deactivated Better Security and it seems to work now so we think that there could be something on Better Security setting that conflicts with aMember. However, we would like to enable this security plugin again if possible. Which settings of Better Security do you think is causing the problem?

  • In most cases it is the “Filter Suspicious Query Strings” option in System Tweaks that is causing the error. Try changing the System Tweaks settings and please report back if you can find the conflicting feature.
