    Add the ability to enable bbpress comments by default and set default forum for all new posts.

    @David Dead,

    Thanks for adding this feature. I updated and went to enable the new setting. Just a heads up, the following readout was displayed near the check box;

    Warning: _() expects exactly 1 parameter, 2 given in /home2/user1/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bbpress-post-topics/index.php on line 236

    Yeah, me too. It's still using the default comments. It's an absolutely fabulous idea.

    Actually, it seems to be working just fine anyway.

    Terrific, thanks.

    Thanks for catching this, guys! That is supposed to be __(). It'll be fixed in the next release, which will be out as soon as I get a chance to run some tests against WP 3.3.

    This plugin is a great idea and I look forward to seeing how it develops.

    Just to let you know I am also getting the some error message note in the above comments.

    But I went to the index.php file, to line 236, added and extra "_" before the "_('Create..." and the error message went away.

    I've been testing this using a test blog and it seems to work great.

    When you create a new post, a summary and link for the post is placed on the forum page in the forum you indicated on the setup. If someone create a comment on the Post page the comment will also appear on the forum page. If a comment is created on the forum page, that will comment will also appear on the Post page.

    I guess there are several advantages to this. One, if you like to show off your comments, this is a good way to do it. Two, if you are tempted to try to create a forum for your blog this assures there will be activity on the forum and perhaps encourage more activity by visitors.

    Good job David!

    I also require the same features requested by ebharding.

    i.e. by default all comments sections are replaced and all posts automatically go to the one forum.

    Can you offer quick fix until the next version release? Would a functions.php filter do or would we have to take the hacky approach and directly edit your plugin files?

    Please add this feature.

    Great work.

    This is a less urgent feature request:

    Are there any plans to allow users to select the forum that the article is being being posted to?

    Example scenario:

    1. User reads an article with no comments. Instead of the standard WordPress comment section a link is presented: "No comments. Start a discussion on this".
    2. Once the link is clicked the user is presented a drop down menu to select the forum he/she would like to discuss the article.

    Whether comments exist or not, the user would never be presented the traditional WordPress comments section.

    dominor-novus: the feature requested by ebharding was added in release 0.5.

    Unfortunately, the first hook for plugins on the Discussion page is down below Comment Blacklist, so it's down there. It's actually the only picture showing up under screenshots - not really sure what's going on with that.

    That's great. I didn't notice your plugin settings under SETTINGS > DISCUSSION. You can now count my second post as irrelevant.

    Thanks!
