Support » Plugin: BackWPup - WordPress Backup Plugin » [Plugin: BackWPup] DropBox does not work on large zip files – how to use Google Cloud?

  • I’ve tried this plugin for all of 2012 and on some of my websites it works just fine and on large websites it dies with an error from Dropbox for I guess too large files – just a guess.

So now I’m trying Google Cloud and this plugin wants:

    Access Key

I’ve spent 30 minutes trying to figure this out from my Google Cloud and have given up.

Is there a Google Cloud for Dummies anywhere? Help on Google requires a PhD in computer science.

    got to:

Than uder Service activate “Google Cloud Storage”

Then go under Google Cloud Storage and activate the “Interoperable Access”

Than under Interoperable Access you have the key that you need.

    Thanks for the instructions.

I hooked up Google Cloud and created a new “Bucket” and the plug-in ran just fine.

Sadly nothing was uploaded to Google Cloud. The log never shows an upload taking place – ever.

My zip backup is 82 MB long and can’t be uploaded to:

    1) DropBox
    2) Google Cloud

Should I try other clouds or am I just wasting my time (Which now is probably into 10 hours trying to make this plug in work)???????

    I’ve given you a 1-star – now I’m thinking that’s way too high……..

I turned off checking and validating the SQL database and I get:

    Upload to GStorage now started…
    2012/07/12 13:14.49: Backup transferred to

xxxx is the correct address to my Google Cloud bucket and folder.

But no zip file was ever uploaded……….
