    (@theafter)

I just lost my all wordpress install after updating this plugin.
My website was located at http://www.musicshops.eu using a templatic theme and as I was updating the plugin through ManageWP i suddently could not access the website anymore and when I connected on the FTP, all the files were gone except the folders…
    just to let you know.
I think my DB is not affected since I managed to extract the sql file

    Cheers
    David

  • I updated to Backup 2.1.2 and now I can’t access teddyburriss.com/tlburriss.
I can not tell what file(s) are missing. How do I resolve this problem? Should I re-install WordPress?

I reloaded WordPress 3.4.1 manually (this is the version I had installed prior to upgrading backup 2.1.2.)

I deleted my wp-admin & wp-includes folders and placed the new files
I overwrote the wp-content folder and root folder files
    (Per WordPress.org instructions)

I am still not able to get into teddyburriss.com/tlburriss

The error is generic WordPress – missing file error (401)

Do you have any suggestions that can help me get my site backup & running?

    Thanks

Ok – thanks to Sorin, I figured out that my problem was in part due to having a “.htaccess” file in my root folder. I deleted this file and got backup up & running. Stay tuned – Sorin will put out a new update soon.

Glad I could help solve your problem.
