Oh… forgot some specifics: I’m running WordPressMU.

Are you using a 3rd party tool for exporting/importing the data, or WordPress’ own tools?

I’ve had good success with using WordPress’ own tools, but had to ensure that on import, I had to specify for it to download any images associated with the data. A bit problematic if the original website is already down, of course.

Also, double check your WordPress Media (Admin -> Media), to see if the images are there, just not “attached” to the Image Sets. It is possible to re-attach those images to an Image Set.

    Myatu,
Well actually I think my problem was that I limited the “Upload Settings
Site upload space” to the default [MU] 100MB. It’s a big blog. Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for letting me know the cause, and glad to hear it’s been resolved.
