• I just installed a fresh copy of wordpress v3.4.1, using the default themes and plugins along with Auto Post Thumbnail.

I added a few posts which includes an <img src=”IMGURL”> and ran Auto Post Thumbnail.

I waited until the progress bar completed and no images showed up under the media tab.

However, my upload folder shows a bunch of new files with funky file names and no extensions. Additionally, they are all 50 bytes in size.

    Here are a few examples:
    image-1111111111110-1101111110111111
    image-1010101010100-1001010100101010
    image-1212121212120-1201212120121212
    image-1313131313130-1301313130131313
    image-1414141414140-1401414140141414
    image-5874610-10437059
    image-5874610-104370591
    image-5874620-204370592
    image-5874630-304370593

I was able to replicate the problem with a fresh wordpress v3.3 install thinking it may have been related to the 3.4 issues previously posted.

Lastly, I have no problems adding a featured image manually using the same external image source included in my posts.

Any ideas, or suggestions on how I might be able to resolve this issue?

Could it have to do with my server configuration?

any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    RVKealohi

OK, I retested the plugin with two different source feeds (both containing image url’s among other things) which i’ve used in the past. one feed worked without problems, while the other simply didn’t, creating the funky image files noted above.

Both feeds contain the same <pipe delimited> fields.

The feed that is currently causing a problem was not in issue in the previous version so i’m not sure what exactly changed.
