  • Hi there, first of all, like so many others, thanks for a wonderful player, i simply love it!!

    I have a small problem though, im using the stand alone version on a non WP site.

    I have the player working but i cant seem to be able to move the position of the player and it seems to be overiding my div command positions, if this is the correct term, (im not great with code) Basically wherever i put the code on my page it is fixed to that position?

    If you could go to this link it may explain alittle better what im on about 🙂

    Thanks in advance for any help!!

    Help! This may seem the silliest of questions – I’ve looked everywhere – and I mean everywhere!! Get ready for it:

    How do I use the plugin? Do I need to embed tags? Is there a button? Strangely enough, there are no docs about how to actually use the plugin with a post! What am I missing? Thanks so much in advance.

    In IE 7 (Vista) I just started noticing an error: “internet explorer cannot open the internet site operation aborted”. This happens using version 2 beta 5 of audioplayer. As soon as I disabled the plugin the error goes away in IE.

    I only had this issue when viewing the blog home page ( http://www.mrsikhnet.com) . The page was loading videos and other content.

    I was able to temporarily resolve this issue by splitting the blog post with the three audio clips so that they don’t show on the home page. This is something that definitely should be looked into if others are having this issue.

    More info on the issue: http://www.nirmaltv.com/2007/08/08/how-to-fix-internet-explorer-cannot-open-the-internet-site-operation-aborted-error/

    I’m having the same problem as DreamyObsession – can’t click on any of the color-picker elements and entering the HEX values doesn’t update anything, either. Also have the “moocolorpicker” floating at the bottom of the page in both Firefox and Safari on a Mac.

    Thought it might be a conflict with some of my other Ajax plug-ins, but no luck yet…

    Great plugin, I’ve been using it for a while now and just upgraded to 2.0beta. Quick question…

    How can I control the height of this player, or vertical space it seems to use by default? I tried setting it in its own div (which did work to a degree) but I still have more space than I wish to. An example is here:
    http://mediacontender.com/2008/04/09/smog-la-delivers-smokescreen-ep/

    My code is like so:

    <div id="audio_player">[audio:dj-evol_sickness_smog01.mp3 |titles=Sickness|artists=DJ Evol]</div>
    <span id="style3"><a href="http://mediacontender.com/audio/dj-evol_sickness_smog01.mp3" target="_blank">
    Right Click Here to Download "Sickness"</a></span>

    #audio_player { padding: 0; }
    #style3 { font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; text-transform: uppercase; }

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi there!
    Great plug-in, thanks a lot!
    I have a little problem with Standalone version, 2.0 beta 5.

    On http://wpaudioplayer.com/whatsnew it says that “Pausing the player now also stops the download”.

    But it seems pausing the player does not cancels the download process on the Standalone 2.0 beta 5. Is that gonna be fixed?

    Thanks,
    Soner

    @webmattster

    Make sure that the audio-player.php file is INSIDE the audio-player folder. Having it under the plugins folder, as required by Audio Player 1, rendered that error for me. When I moved it to its original location, that fixed the problem.

    Excellent plugin, thanks for the hard work and bug fixing you’ve done so far for v2. Could be a similar problem to RadPoe’s on the previous page or perhaps I’m being stupid but I want to be able to use the ‘Replace [audio] syntax’ option rather than the ‘Replace all links to mp3 files’ that I am currently using as there are certain instances where I want the mp3 link to show and others where I want the player to come up. Selecting the ‘Replace [audio] syntax’ option doesn’t appear to work, if this is indeed similar to RadPoe’s problem then you have already fixed it and I’ll keep an eye out for the next beta on your website. Or am I just using [audio] incorrectly on my blog posts? Do I insert a link to the audio filename on the word ‘audio’? Thanks.

    Hi Martin.
    I’m using the newest version of your audio-player included in the latest Podcasting 2.0beta4 plugin. And I think I might have two bugs to report:
    1. The player restarts playback from the beginning after playing it for some minutes (I use files which are encoded as mp3s with 64kbps, 44.1kHz, mono)
    2. The file duration isn’t properly recognized.
    You can check out both bugs in the following post: blogs.mewi.unibas.ch/archiv/127 (I it repeats a little bit before half of the playback bar is finished)
    This happens with every file I tested it with. I’m using WP 2.6.1 and Safari 3 or Firefox 3 on a Mac. I already addressed the devoloper of the Podcasting plug in this thread.
    Otherwise thanks for this great and simple plugin!

    I’d really, really like to reduce the overall height of the player, but apparently that’s not an easy thing to do.

    I do understand why it has been set a fixed height (due to the text and progress bar etc.), but I’ve eliminated those features, and have simply set the width of the object element so that all that fits are the play and pause buttons. Works perfectly!

    However, I hate the fact that the player is so huge. Does anybody know how I can reduce the size of the elements? It appears that the only solution is to experiment with the source and compile the plugin again, but that’s way beyond what I can accomplish.

    So if anybody know how to do it (or can give me a kick in the right direction) I’d be forever grateful!

    heintore – you may wish to try a different audio player altogether:

    Great audio player, been waiting for the new version for quite a while. I even thought that it was abandonned.
    Thanks a lot.
    Keep up the good work.

    Thanks a lot pinkbeats, that plugin seems to fit my needs perfectly. You’re an angel!

    RE: my earlier post: it was my error, wasn’t using the correct syntax for the player to appear, s/b [audio:name_of_mp3_file.mp3].

    No problem heintore, glad to be of help. I tried a few different audio players before finding the one which suited my needs best.

    Same problem as Saxwell, above. On Safari the plugin appears and works fine. In Firefox 3.0.1 it doesn’t display. When I look in the html code there’s a message saying “Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version” and telling me to enable JavaScript. None of this displays on the page, however.

    I am using the latest version of AFP (downloaded fresh today) and I also switched to the beta Audio Player.
