# [Plugin: Audio Player] feature request

 * This is an EXCELLENT plug-in. I’ve never had any problems with it.
 * But I’m wondering if you could add a feature that would make it EVEN MORE useful
   to me.
 * Is it possible to define start and end points for audio files! Sometimes, you
   only want to play segments of a larger audio file. And in cases where the content
   resides elsewhere (not on your site), editing the audio download file to include
   a shorter segment is not an option.

 * It would be possible to add this feature but I don’t believe it is useful enough
   to implement it. The problem with your idea is that visitors would still need
   to download the whole file to listen to the segment. Say you had a 10 minute 
   piece of audio but were only interested in the 6th minute. All visitors would
   still have to download the first 5 minutes before they can start listening. This
   is not good for the visitor (they have to wait before listening) and not good
   for you (waste of bandwidth).

 * I would also really like this option, infact I have an idea to base a whole website
   around such a feature.
 * You’re right though it would be useless if all of the file prior to the required
   section needed downloading first. I understand if it’s impossible to load just
   a section of an mp3. However it is possible to skip to any part of a youtube 
   video and load from that point, surely this is a similar sort of thing?
 * Perhaps it took youtube’s army of coders months to make that work. Still it would
   be a great feature!
