 * …Have you actually tried it yourself…?
 * From the readme on the FAQ page [http://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/subscribe2/trunk/ReadMe.txt](http://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/subscribe2/trunk/ReadMe.txt)
   it says

 * I’ve not tried but the readme.txt seems to indicate you can.

 * If your theme supports the footer area as a ‘sidebar’ then it’s a simple case
   of adding the Widget there, otherwise the instructions highlighted by Jan above
   will server your purpose.

 * “I have changed the by default page for the plugin”
 * Okay, but where? You can set a default page in the Subsicrbe2 -> Settings page
   that applies when the shortcode is used within a pages content but the Widget
   needs the page defined within the Widget settings. Did you select a page there?(
   Open the Widget up once place in the sidebar to see the settings).
