• Hi there –

I’d love to use this plugin on a brandy new site I’m playing with, but it appears to add/jumble social links in a vertical fashion along the bottom left side of the post. I’ve confirmed it’s this plugin that creates this issue, as the vertical social links disappear if I remove the Wikipedia link. (and it doesn’t appear on other posts with no Wikipedia link)

I realize this might be a theme coding issue too, but figured I’d start here. 🙂

UPDATE: You know, now I can’t be certain if it’s related to this plugin as the problem with my posts in video format remain even after removing the Wikipedia link, although I don’t recall seeing this prior to installing this plugin. I think I’ll open an inquiry with the theme author in parallel and will update here when I have more info.

Hi @selym, thanks for reaching out about this issue. It’s hard to tell from here where the problem might be but we are happy to assist in any way we can.

I’m looking at the URL you shared and I’m not sure I understand the issue. There seem to be 2 functioning Wikipedia previews on the page and a row of social links that looks good.

If you’re still seeing the problem, can you confirm that the issue persist when you completely disable the plugin from the plugin page in the admin console?

    thank you!

    Hello @wikimediafoundation,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the Wikipedia links always worked great, but the conflict with the theme I’m running does persist and it only happens when this plugin is active. Since I can’t really say if it’s caused by specific code on the the plugin or theme side, I remediated by simply removing the theme option to publish that vertical share icons, only keeping the horizontal one that works.

I’ll mention it to the theme author at some point to see what he says and will follow up if he feels it’s a plugin code misconfiguration.
