    Hello everyone,

    I was planning to add new plugins to my blog ( but for some reason that proved impossible. Despite the fact that the plugins are correctly uploaded to the FTP directory (I tried with 3 different plugins and 2 different FTP accesses) they do not appear in the plugin list of my blog (all of my previous plugins are visible and functioning).

    Can anyone please explain me how to overcome this malfunction?

  • They need to be in the PLUGINS directory and not an ftp directory.
    So if you use for instance calendar-plus:

    Yep you are right – that’s the case, I simply expressed myself poorly. As I said, all of the previously installed plugins work, but not the three latest ones. Thanks though.

    Make sure the plugin is not buried in a folder like:


    WordPress only looks two directories deep I believe, so maybe check that?

    Hmm, interesting, I wasn’t aware of that thanks. But unfortunately, that doesn’t help. The latest installed plugins are in the same folder than the all of the previously installed ones…

    My computer recently crashed so I had to install a new hard drive as well as Windows 7. I doubt it, but could that play a role in the malfunction the blog is facing?

    That shouldn’t have anything to do with it. If you want to click my name and send me login info I can look, but it’s just hard without seeing what’s going on.

    Ok. This is resolved.

    The plugins in question were buried two levels deep:


    I removed the second directory so that WordPress could see them.
